Wi-Fi vs Cellular: which is the better used buy?

Cellular iPads cost more new and command a similar premium used. They make sense if you will genuinely use the SIM on the road, in the desert or as a hotspot backup. For most UAE buyers Wi-Fi only is the smarter spend: almost everywhere you would use an iPad already has Wi-Fi, and you can hotspot from your iPhone in a pinch. Cellular models hold resale value slightly better, so factor that in if you upgrade often.

What tested and graded means for a refurbished iPad

Every refurbished iPad is opened on our bench in Dubai Media City before it is listed. We run a full-screen pixel test for dead or stuck pixels, check touch response across the whole panel including the corners, test every camera with sample shots, both microphones and all speakers, the USB-C or Lightning port with a real cable, Apple Pencil pairing on supported models, the Smart Connector pins on Air and Pro, Face ID or Touch ID, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and cellular with a live SIM on Cellular models. Activation Lock is cleared and a fresh iPadOS installed.

The grade describes cosmetics only, because every iPad has to pass the same checks to be sold. Grade A is close to new, Grade B has light scuffs on the back or edges with a clean screen, Grade C has visible wear on the body but an unmarked display. The grade is photographed on the actual iPad.

What you see before you pay for a refurbished iPad

Before you pay for a refurbished iPad we send, on WhatsApp, photos of the exact iPad, its serial number and a screenshot of its battery reading. With them we give the model and chip, storage, Wi-Fi or Cellular and network lock status, the iPadOS version, the Apple Pencil and keyboard it supports, the cosmetic grade and what is in the box. Settings, General, About shows the same serial, so you can match it yourself at handover.

Battery health on a refurbished iPad, shown before you pay

We read the battery maximum capacity on the bench and send you a screenshot of it, with the cycle count on models where iPadOS reports it. Apple designs iPad batteries to keep up to 80 percent of their original capacity at their rated cycle count, so a unit reading below that is described plainly as a worn battery, never hidden. Ask through the quote form for the screenshot of the exact iPad you are considering.

What is in the box with a refurbished iPad

The iPad and a charging cable of the right type, tested with the unit. A power adapter, Apple Pencil, keyboard or case is included only when we name it and photograph it separately. The original Apple box is included only when the previous owner kept it, and we tell you on WhatsApp whether it is there. The iPad arrives erased at the Hello screen, ready for your own Apple Account.

Our stock is individual iPads bought back from UAE owners, so it changes as units come off the bench and this page does not promise any particular model.
