Apple's 2026 MacBook Air M5 quietly went on sale in UAE in March. We've spent three weeks with the 13-inch and 15-inch base configurations — and helped 80+ sellers calculate whether to upgrade from their M2, M3 or M4. What's actually new in the MacBook Air M5
The headline upgrades are an 18% faster GPU, jump from 16 GB to 24 GB base unified memory, and a 500-nit Liquid Retina display (up from 400 nits). Battery life is officially up to 20 hours; we measured 16–17 hours on real-world mixed use.
What hasn't changed: the chassis, ports (still two Thunderbolt 4 + MagSafe), keyboard, and Touch ID. If you loved the M3/M4 form factor, the M5 feels identical in hand.

Should you upgrade? The trade-in math
